Investments

FyreFem SME Fund and One Africa Capital co-invested into Kelpack in 2020. In 2022 we facilitated a management buy-in and secondaries transaction to Legacy Africa Fund Managers. We hold a small residual shareholding in Kelpack but this deal was our first exit.

FyreFem were instrumental in the deal structuring for this transaction in a 100% buyout from a large multinational and it was our first deal concluded in this manner. FyreFem’s CEO still sits on this board.

Founded in 1995 by Dean Gianni, Packaging World is a well-established supplier of specialised flexible packaging solutions, including reels, bags and pouches, primarily to the FMCG food sector. Headquartered in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, the business services hundreds of customers and is recognised for its quality products, reliability, innovation and agility. Our participation in Packaging World is a through a shareholding in Alito Fund 2 alongside RMB Corvest and One Africa Capital Partners. A key feature of the transaction is the inclusion of CEO Jill Celliers in the ownership structure, aligning executive leadership directly with long-term value creation. This investment continues a deliberate pattern in our track record. Across all three FyreFem investments to date, we have partnered with women-owned investors and fund managers, ensuring that capable female capital allocators participate meaningfully.
